April is the Month to Prepare

We all wait for spring to arrive and it never seems to start soon enough. What we sometimes forget to do is to prepare ourselves for what the next months may bring us. It wasn’t that long ago that this area was hit by a very damaging storm, and left in its wake were many homes needing to have repairs done to them. The CMBA wants you to know that when something like this happens, we are here for you. Our members offer resources you may never have even thought of. First, we have Builders and Remodelers who are all licensed.
If this is the first time you have faced repairing storm damage or just doing any work at all to your home, call and we can refer you to several businesses who will be qualified to fit your needs. We have members that offer financing, if needed, insurance services, siding, shingles, gutters, windows and whatever else you may need to repair your home. The CMBA Membership is full of the right resources with people who live in your community and care about making sure that your home is back in order in no time at all.
We are here for you, and to answer your Building and Remodeling questions and challenges whenever a situation you are unfamiliar arises. We are a resource for you to lean on. When the siren sounds or the weather looks threatening, you are not alone. Doing research takes time, but when something happens unplanned, you may not have that precious time available to do all that you should in finding someone to help you with repairs, rebuilding, or cleaning up. April is also Builder Month. If you try to wait and time the market until it hits rock bottom, you are likely to lose out. Just as no one can accurately predict the peaks and valleys of the stock market (name one person who sold their tech portfolio in April of 2000), the same holds true for housing. If you sit on the fence and wait for the absolute best deal, you could end up literally waiting for years. And most likely, your guess on market timing would be wrong. But if you choose to buy now, you will not only be in the driver’s seat during the buying process, you will also reap the gains of price appreciation once you become a home owner. Remember, those who purchased homes in the early 1990s during the last big economic and housing downturn came out as big winners.
